Why Raw Food?

Commercial pet food is a relatively new "invention".  It only came on the market about 50 years ago.  What do you suppose dogs and cats ate before that time?  Think about it……..   Real food is what nature intended your dog to eat. 

Commercial dog food is highly processed and even top of the line kibbles, using human grade ingredients, just do not provide the proper nutrition for your dog.  Kibbles are processed at extremely high temperatures killing off nutrients and enzymes.  This is why dog food manufacturer's add vitamins and minerals to their finished product. 

Imagine yourself eating only dry cereal for your entire life.  Would you survive?  Probably.  Most breakfast cereals are fortified with vitamins and minerals just the same as kibble.  Even though you may survive on this diet of cereal alone, you probably would not be as healthy, energetic and happy as if you were eating unprocessed foods from all of the food groups.  You would probably get sick often and feel lethargic.  Everyone knows the nutrients provided from unprocessed foods are much more beneficial to our bodies than what we get from a vitamin pill.  Why is your dog any different? 

I saw the benefits of what a raw diet can do first hand with my Golden Retriever.  She thrives on a raw diet and all her skin infections, yeast infections, allergies, digestive issues and gunky ears are gone when eating raw food.  The trainers at her daycare facility told me her disposition changed for the better shortly after she started the raw diet.  She is more energetic, happy, doesn't get sick with infections, doesn't smell "doggy" and her teeth are nice and clean and tarter free.  I admit, I have twice gone back to kibble only to have her yeast infections, ear infections and  digestive problems return.  I have proven to myself time and again that raw is what she is meant to eat.  

Feeding raw food to my dog is a bit more expensive than what kibble costs, however, I am saving so much money on vet bills that in the long run I believe the raw food is actually more economical.    Not to mention, I love my dog to bits and want to give her the best food to keep her in good health.
